GMWEA Seeks New Board Member(s)

GMWEA seeks volunteers/self-nominations to serve on its 12-member board of directors. It’s an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in supporting Vermont’s water-quality professionals, advocating for best-practice policy, and promoting public knowledge of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater management.

Candidates will stand for election by the membership at the annual Spring Meeting at Killington on May 23, 2019.

  • Must be a GMWEA member in good standing.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years in the water quality industry or as a member of the association.
  • Must be a Vermont resident or work for an entity that does business in Vermont.
  • Nondiscrimination: GMWEA does not restrict board membership on the basis race, color, religion, gender, disability, or national origin.

  • Active engagement in guidance and operation of the organization.
  • Participation in at least one of GMWEA’s standing committees -- Membership, Public Relations, Government Affairs, and Continuing Education – or a specific, short-term project/program committee.
  • Attendance at monthly board meetings in person or by phone required.  (Some absences are permitted.) Typically, meetings occur alternately in South Burlington and Montpelier at 3 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.

Individuals wishing to serve may self-nominate by contacting Daniel Hecht, GMWEA’s executive director, at
dan.hecht@gmwea.org. Please provide name, contact information, job title, a short biography, and reasons for wanting to join the board. Nominations must be received by April 11, 2019.
