GMWEA Seeks New Board Member (January, 2019)
GMWEA seeks a new person to serve on its 12-member board of directors, replacing a recently-retired member. It’s an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in supporting Vermont’s water-quality professionals, advocating for best-practice policy, and promoting public knowledge of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater management.
Tenure: From time of appointment to GMWEA’s annual Spring Meeting in May, 2020. At that time, may run for election to a three-year term.
Active engagement in guidance and operation of the organization.
Participation in at least one of GMWEA’s standing committees -- Membership, Public Relations, Government Affairs, and Continuing Education – or a specific, short-term project/program committee.
Attendance at monthly board meetings in person or by phone required. (Some absences are permitted by GMWEA’s Bylaws. Typically, meetings occur alternately in South Burlington and Montpelier at 3 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.)
Individuals wishing to serve may self-nominate by contacting Daniel Hecht, GMWEA’s executive director, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide name, contact information, job title, a short biography, and reasons for wanting to join the board. GMWEA’s board of directors will review candidates and then vote to elect the appropriate individual by April 1, 2019.
