Vermont Poo & Brew and No Water, No Brew
GMWEA's newest annual event, the Poo & Brew / No Water, No Brew, brings together young operators, Northeast regional industry representatives, and municipal and state officials. Presented in early November, the afternoon begins with instructive tours of colleagues' facilities (wastewater for the Poo & Brew, drinking water for the No Water, No Brew), followed by facility tours and social get-togethers at Vermont's finest breweries -- with samples of their specialty beers.
Though very different, water quality management and brewing technologies and processes have surprising elements in common! NEWEA's first Poo & Brew -- 2015, in Worcester, Massachusetts -- proved so popular that GMWEA hosted its own wastewater-focused event in 2016 and followed up in 2017 with a drinking-water-focused afternoon. Both events were attended by capacity crowds and received rave reviews.
